Oliver Gavin Motorsports

Biography

Oliver is best known as a hugely successful former Corvette Racing factory driver, racing for the manufacturer for almost 20 years. Oliver can count multiple wins at the Le Mans 24 Hours (5), the Sebring 12 Hours (6) and Petit Le Mans (5) among his successes as well as notching up five American Le Mans Series Championship titles over his career.

Oliver was introduced to motor racing through the traditional karting route, moving into car racing in 1990. The following year he won the British Formula First Championship and was announced as the winner of the prestigious BRDC McLaren Autosport Award.

After spells in the British Vauxhall Lotus Championship and British F3, Oliver raced internationally, which led to him becoming the FIA Formula One Safety Car driver. Oliver also became test driver for the Renault F1 team, a role he continued with for almost 10 years.

In 2000, Oliver moved into sportscar racing before setting up home with the Corvette Factory team in 2002. He remained with the team for 20 seasons, achieving great success globally.

Oliver maintained his close relationship with Corvette Racing and Chevrolet after his retirement from racing, working with the brand on the Oliver Gavin Driver Academy.

Oliver now brings his sportscar knowledge and expertise to the Asian Le Mans Series, where he is co-commentator.
